 Memorial Day is a day which is also known as Decoration Day in the US, it is celebrated as a federal holiday where people remember the Military Soldiers who have lost their lives by fighting against the violence that spread during the American Civil War. This Day is celebrated on the last Monday of May every year as it announces the beginning of the summer vacation. Memorial Day and Veterans Day are two different form of celebrations. Memorial Day serves the purpose of remembrance of the great men and women who have died during the War hours.

Memorial Days meaning is a practice, a practice to remember the great personalities for the great deeds that they have done, deeds they have left behind in as many ways as one can. It can be either done by decorating the cemetery of soldiers by flowers and flag, by organizing meals in form of picnics on the ground of the cemetery, by taking part in the Memorable Day Parade, by visiting Military Museums and so much more. The day being a celebration of honor is not just for the responsible countrymen and women, it equally involves the participation from the part of children who understand the true value of their motherland by paying homage to the soldiers. This Day has been in celebration since the 19th century and marks a derogatory statement among the population of the United States ever since it was declared to one memorable day.

Though the graves of the soldiers were decorated by flowers before the American Civil War and during that time as well, making it seem like a special move this day was originated. On this day the flag is lowered to the half-staff position till noon after it was raised to the top-staff.
